Special note by Mark (May 2023)

David C. Buxbaum passed away this Saturday. I first met David over 10 years ago at a music concert and we quickly bonded. He and I formed a Foundation to help needy kids through music, and he  served as our founding board member. 

To date, we have helped thousands of kids, all thanks to David. In honor of his invaluable contributions the board and I plan to set up a special David C. Buxbaum Memorial fellowship or stipend to assist needy kids through art.

Personally, I am devastated by this loss, as I know you are too. 

At the core, David was a friend whose departure leaves a huge hole in my life, that of my family as well as countless friends and acquaintances in China and around the world. However, we take a little comfort in knowing he had a long and full life and left the world a much better place. Rest in Peace David.
